Dylan just completed his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and graduated in May of 2015. He works in Dr. McCornack’s Lab as an undergraduate research assistant. This position has required him to assist in various experimental protocols, perform data collection, and routine organization and (maintenance) of the laboratory and greenhouse areas. In 2012 he began leading the “Aphid Image Counter” project. This project’s scope is to develop a adapt existing computer algorithms from commercial software that can accurately estimate the number of soybean aphids on a single soybean leaflet. Undertaking this project has allowed Dylan to observe the benefits of bringing two unique disciplines (engineering and entomology) together to generate useful research tools. Dylan will be relocating to Victoria, TX to join Invista’s Victoria Plant as a Reliability Engineer this summer.
